If you've been in lately, you may have noticed something new on the counter — a wooden bowl overflowing with bright yellow peaches, dark cherries, and blushing nectarines. That's not decoration. That's dinner.
June is one of our favorite months in the kitchen, and stone fruit season is a big reason why. Every year, we wait for that moment when the peaches start arriving from California's Central Valley farms — because the moment they do, the whole menu shifts around them.
What's Coming Out of the Kitchen Right Now
Peach + Arugula Grain Bowl — We're doing a seasonal grain bowl built around a white nectarine and arugula base, finished with shaved fennel, candied pepitas, crumbled feta, and a honey-sumac dressing. Sweet, bitter, tangy, crunchy. Everything at once.
Cherry Chia Smoothie — Tart Bing cherries blended with house-made almond milk, banana, chia, and a dash of cardamom. It's thick, rich, and makes for a genuinely satisfying meal in a cup. We add a fresh cherry on top because we care about the details.
Stone Fruit Overnight Oats — Sliced white peach over cold-soaked oats with coconut cream, toasted almonds, and a drizzle of raw honey. Available starting at open — and it moves fast.
Why We Chase Seasonal
We've always built the menu around what's actually growing right now, not what's easiest to source year-round. Stone fruits are a perfect example — a peach picked ripe and used the same week is a completely different ingredient than one that's traveled 3,000 miles in a refrigerated truck. The flavor difference is real, and your body knows it.
We also try to source as close to home as possible. Several of our stone fruit suppliers are within 150 miles of Eagle Rock — farms we've been working with for years, people whose names we actually know.
Come In Before It's Gone
Stone fruit season is short. We'll ride it as long as we can — usually through late August — but peak peach season is right now, in June. Come in before 11am for the oats and smoothies while quantities last, or swing by for lunch and try the grain bowl.
We're at 2218 Colorado Blvd in Eagle Rock. Same place we've been since 2010. See you soon.
